Catchy title, eh? I thought of it myself.
Well, here we are on the first day of a new decade. I like this day the most of any in the year cuz there’s nothing to look back on, unless you got arrested for driving home from an alcohol saturated New Years party.
As you may have guessed from my last entry I’m not one for making resolutions in the new year. Not because I’m perfect* but because we don’t keep to them so why bother. Well, I may not wanna make any resolutions but there are a few things I would like to see in myself in 2011. Obviously getting back to my drawing desk is a high priority. It might mean putting my daughter in daycare an extra day a week but if that what it takes then…
Next, I come from a very musical family. We all sing and play a variety of instruments. On the rare occasions we’re all under the same roof at the same time (my family lives in another part of the country) we have a great time jamming/singing, etc. Alone I don’t tend to allot the time for musical endeavors. I’d like that to change this year. Music is as big a part of my life as my artwork. Hell, it is a form of art. I don’t want to end up 85 and regretting I didn’t do more with my musical talents. Hopefully 2011 will inspire me to get a few tunes out there.
The big focus this year will be the birth of our second child in May. Nothing supersedes that. I’m taking 6 months off from work (Parental Leave) to be a stay-at-home dad. I’m counting on everything falling into place this year! Then again if the Mayans are right we’re all screwed next year anyway. So make 2011 the best year yet!
* I’m damn close.
